6 tips to reduce waste in the kitchen
Reducing waste production is a goal that is being achieved little by little. Today we focus on the kitchen, which is undoubtedly the room of the house where there is a greater production of waste, whether food or not. Think of all the plastic packaging that we throw away after preparing a good meal. Even if you recycle and compost, there are still plenty of small, easy things you can do on a daily basis.

There are several ways to reduce packaging (plastic food film or aluminum foil) while ensuring the proper preservation of food:

4/ Bring your own lunch to work using a lunch box :
If you eat lunch at work, and there is no canteen, try to take your lunch home. Again, this requires some organization, but in the long run the benefits to your wallet and health are enormous! And moreover, it avoids you to go to buy outside and to multiply the "useless" waste. We propose a magnificent lunchbox, to make your colleagues jealous and bring your best dishes to work.
To reduce waste, we can also abandon our classic sponges composed mostly of plastics, there are several kinds of sponges more responsible:
The Luffa / loofah: these funny natural sponges are made from a squash! Totally biodegradable, they are soft and delicately abrasive, easy to use and maintain.
Tawashi : from Japan, these sponges are knitted, or made by weaving together strips of old t-shirts or thick tights. It's very easy to make, the tuto is coming soon! Then just a quick run in the washing machine and they're as good as new.
Single-use items, such as disposable dishes and containers, plastic straws and swirlers, and paper napkins do not go hand in hand with a zero waste kitchen, but there are plenty of alternatives:
Bye bye plastic bottles, hello water bottles. About half of all plastic bottles still end up in landfills and oceans or are incinerated. To replace them, the water bottle is perfect. Small in size and easy to slip into a bag, it can be taken anywhere: to work, on a hike or for sports.
Reusable straws: If you have plastic straws, there is nothing easier than to change them with stainless steel straws.
