A miracle of nature, the "Capim Dourado" in Portuguese means golden grass. It is a 100% natural wild herb with a metallic golden stem that only grows in the Jalapao region of Brazil. It is indicated one month in the year between October and November when the plant is mature and naturally takes on its golden color.

Its picking is strictly regulated in Brazil, only the stems are taken in order to preserve the roots, preserve biodiversity and prevent its disappearance.

Our social partner

Organized in a cooperative, the women of the region transform these stems into jewellery, placemats, baskets and other decorative objects. The work of vegetable gold is one of the main sources of income in the region.
